About: The Bride Wore Boots is a 1946 American romantic comedy film with Barbara Stanwyck in the title role, playing opposite Robert Cummings. A very young Natalie Wood is seen in the film, directed by Irving Pichel. This was Stanwyck's last feature comedy. Some years later, she complained to columnist Hedda Hopper, "I've always got my eye out for a good comedy. Remember Ball of Fire and The Lady Eve? But they don't seem to write that kind of comedy anymore -- just a series of gags." The Cast (with wikipedia links):  Barbara Stanwyck as Sally Warren Robert Cummings as Jeff Warren Diana Lynn as Mary Lou Medford Patric Knowles as Lance Gale Robert Benchley as Uncle Tod Natalie Wood as Carol Warren Directed by Irving Pichel Written by Harry Segall Dwight Michael Wiley Produced by Seton Miller Starring Barbara Stanwyck Robert Cummings Diana Lynn Cinematography Stuart Thompson Edited by Ellsworth Hoagland Music by Friedrich Hollaender Production company Paramount Pictures Distributed by Paramount Pictures Release date May 8, 1946 Running time 85 minutes Country United States Language English Back is blank. Lobby Cards measure 11" x 14" and were almost always printed in sets of 8 (some lower budget movies only had a set of 4). Many lobby card sets (usually pre-1970 sets) have a "title card". A title card normally has artwork and the credits from the movie, and is different in appearance from the other seven cards in the set. The artwork is usually the same as that of the artwork on one of the styles of half-sheet (the "A' style, and often they have a "T/A" in the corner). It is very difficult to find complete lobby card sets from pre-1970 movies, as almost all of these were long ago broken up and sold by the individual card. In most cases, they are printed on a card stock that is thicker than typical poster paper (though there are some exceptions for cards from some low budget films and with some 1980s to present cards).
