His histories, and his biography of Charles V, were a sublime look into the progress of European society. These works are important early histories, especially on America and India, with the author discussing the country, and Britain's relations with the countries. Illustrated with a folding map to the frontispiece, and one folding map. CONDITION In a full diced calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Minor rubbing to the boards and spines. Some light marks to the boards. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spies and to the extremities. A little and even fading to the spines. Scored to the boards of Volume VIII. A couple of scores to the rear board of Volume VI. Front joint of Volume II is strained. Front hinge of Volume II is starting. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots. Bookseller's label to the verso to the front endpaper of Volume I. Folding map to Vol IX with a small closed tear to the gutter.
