Description: The Genuine And Complete Works of Flavius Josephus. 724 pages. 57 engraved plates, including three by William Blake (facing pages 12, 64 and, 76), one large engraved folding plan of Jerusalem, and two engraved maps with hand-coloured outlining. Rebound in black boards and new endpapers. Some pages are unopened. Missing title page but otherwise complete. Some light repairs on a couple of pages. There were five editions, according to Bentley, with minor variations. A pencil-written note on the end paper left by the last owner, presumably, the one who had the book rebound, notes that this is the 1785 edition printed by C. Cook (see the last image).
