1830 N-9 R-6- PCGS G 04 Matron or Coronet Head Large Cent Coin 1c

Description: PCGS authenticated and graded G 04. Glossy chocolate brown and steel. No roughness or verdigris, just honest wear. The only marks, and they are microscopic, are a few faint hairlines in the hair at the top of the head and a couple tiny ticks right of the base of the T in CENT. The date and legends are easily readable. The reverse is unevenly struck, as always on this variety, with the top stronger than the bottom. An attractive lower grade example of this rare variety, the rarest of the cents of 1816-1839 known to Newcomb. Graded G4 in the Noyes census, his photo #25303. Ex; Mike Packard 1983 - Fred H.
