Francis Orpen Morris's history of the British moths, an in-depth and popular study of the insects in each species. Text adorned with one-hundred and thirty-two striking plates illustrative of nearly 2,000 specimens in colour. Collated, complete. Francis Orpen Morris was an Irish clergyman, prominent ornithologist and entomologist and prolific author of natural histories. CONDITION Rebound in uniform half straight up grain morocco bindings over marbled boards, marbled endpapers. Externally smart with shelf wear, rubbed to joints and spine, a touch of fading to back-strip. Previous ownership ink inscription to title page, undated. Henry Burney's bookplate to front pastedown vol. II. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to fore edge, affecting occasional leaf, particularly leaves of plates. With one-hundred and thirty-two coloured plates. Collated, complete.
