Description: 1886 J. Wood Studio N.Y. Giants CabinetReprintMembers of the 1886 N.Y. Giants were immortalized in this series of 4-1/4" x 6-7/8" studio cabinets. The sepia portraits are bordered in gold. The photos were likely available singly from the studio or as a complete set, with an advertising front-piece and a 6-9/16" x 4-3/16" composite photo. It is interesting to note that on one version of the composite card, baseball caps were artificially added to the portraits. The photos became the basis for the same players’ cards in several late 1880s card series.
