Description: I have for sale a token for the 1888 Presidential election campaign for republican candidates Benjamin Harrison & V.P. Levi Morton. The token is gilded metal, one inch in diameter and in uncirculated condition. Harrison won the election by defeating Grover Cleveland. Harrison did not win the popular vote but won the election with a majority in the electoral college and became our 23rd President. In the 1892 Presidential election Cleveland defeated Harrison. The obverse shows the conjoined bust of HARRISON & MORTON with their names. Below the bust it has the makers name, P.L. Krider Co. Phila. The reverse in the center shows an arm holding a hammer and around the rim it reads PROTECTION TO AMERICAN INDUSTRY - 1888.
