It's made of solid black walnut and has been given a cursory sanding, although final sanding and fitting will be required onto your particular rifle. This particular handguard is for the original 1892 long rifle. If you have any questions or requests feel free to ask! NOTE: Reproduction parts often require fitting to a particular firearm.
