Description: This listing is for an early illustrated printing of “THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,” dated 1903. It is the scarcest and most desirable of the pulp storybooks from that era. The book measures 7.5 x 9.5 inches, unnumerated. There are several stories, beginning with The Night Before Christmas" and followed by the amusing "Night After Christmas." B&W illustrations appear on most pages with a lovely color illustration at the beginning. Construction is hardcover, paper litho over boards with color illustrations on the front and rear covers. Pages are pulp. This 121 year old book is in good/acceptable condition given rarity. The cover has a rudimentary cosmetic repair to the top and the outside edges are worn to the boards. It still displays very nicely. The pulp pages are tanned with a few tears, but otherwise surprisingly clean with secure binding. There are two names written on a blank page.
