Description: 1914 Impressionist Massachusetts landscape of a Blueberry Field by Mabel E. Dickinson Pond 1869-1960, listed Massachusetts and California artist, oil on canvas, 18 1/8" by 14 1/8", signed and dated lower right, vintage gilded/painted French style frame, 23 1/2" by 19 1/2". Artist studied Boston Art Museum and Academy of San Diego. Primarily from Worcester Massachusetts, she relocated to a farm in Spencer, Massachusetts after marrying Charles F. Pond in September 1914, and thereafter signed with her married name, so this painting was probably done earlier that year. In 1925 after the death of her husband she spent time in San Diego before returning to Worcester. Label from 1959 on stretcher "C V H (?) blueberry field". Condition very good with 2 old repairs to canvas with corresponding in-paint to face, frame with minor finish blemishes.
