Description: 1915 RURAL KANSAS RPPC PHOTO POSTCARD WITH MONETT & ELLSWORTH RPO So bear with me here as I put together the various interesting attributes of this RPPC. The postmark is a RPO which I believe is a Railway Post Office. This would essentially mean they were using a train car to sort/process the mail. As such, I believe it would have been a route between Monett Kansas and Ellsworth Kansas. The card was addressed to someone in Sedgwick Kansas. The photograph pictures what appears to be a rural farmhouse during the winter. I think it looks a bit bleak to be honest. Now here is where it gets a bit sad/creepy. The text of the postcard is as follows: Miss Pear DuttonSedgwick, Kansas Someone crossed out "M SS G" from the word Message, leaving EAE. (not sure what that means)"Honey Read Matt. 18 & 19 and so do""A nice place to live on the other side. From K.N.F" Now Mathew 18 & 19 is: 18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will bebound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will beloosed in heaven.19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. So I essentially interpret this postcard as saying, "Hey, marry this guy and you will get this house in heaven". (Pear Dutton was a Miss, not Mrs.) Quite the story from so little information, don't you think? J772
