Description: Selling an ORIGINAL 1926 Grover George US tour poster featuring dapper George, shadowed by multiple figures from the golden days of stage magic, including mystics, devils, skeleton ghosts, witches, and bats, all against a moonlit scene of the sphinx and pyramids. Colors pop, with a lot to take in. A famous image that has been reproduced numerous times for home decor and calendars, but this is an original from the aborted 1926 Grover George tour. (I happened to see a large copy at Dinosaur BBQ in NYC!) Vintage poster dealers are selling unbacked posters for $500-$600 MORE than this, but it’s priced to sell. Thought it would look good in the dining room, spouse disagreed. Poster is 40” x 26.5” however it has been linen backed to 41” x 27” for easier framing. Grading at A- which is superb condition with faint toning, minor abrasions and creases. Has been stored flat since 2021, but will ship rolled in a tube. A stunning piece for a living room, den, office.
