1940 Naive Folk Art Two Brown Rabbits Oil on Canvas Painting Estelle Wright

Description: Item up for sale is a glorious vintage oil on canvas painting depicting two rabbits laying down. This piece is signed in the lower right with the name Estelle Wright with a date of 1940 (looks like 1910 but when blown up we determined it was 1940). Painting is housed in a frame that if not original has been with the artwork for many years. Frame shows some areas of wood wear around edges and corners with old wood wear that was painting over at some point in the frame's life. Wood shows no cracks or breaks. Gold tone paint shows areas of paint wear with patina consistent with age. Painting itself shows no rips, tears, holes or dimples with surface showing a few areas of surface soiling with generalized soiling and patina throughout consistent with age. Verse of the canvas shows patina and soiling consistent with age. Verso of the canvas has an old label attached showing where the artist sent this to her Niece in 1967. Artwork itself measures 14-1/8" top to bottom by 24-1/8" wide by 2-1/8" in depth. Frame measures 17-3/4" top to bottom by 27-5/8" wide by 1-5/8" in depth.
