Description: Vintage Monopoly board game is their number 8 / popular edition. Board and box both bare "Number 8". At the time this was made, there were 7 versions; the differences between the games are spelled out on the front of the short rules sheet. Box, board and rule sheets bare the 1924 patent number (1,509,312) for Lizzie J Magie's "The Landlord's Game" and Parker Brothers' 1935 patent number (2,026,082). The Magie patent number was dropped in 1940. The extended rule sheet is copyrighted 1936 which nicely dates the set from 1936 to 1939. The houses are complete at 32 as are hotels with 12. Hotels are simple, not Grand, which is what this set came with. Chance and Community Chest cards are complete at 16 each. Includes two sets of rules, one short, one long. Plus a small catalog advertising other Parker Brothers' games. CONDITION: Fair, used condition. There are no playing pieces / tokens. (The photo on short rules sheet shows what the original playing pieces were: battleship, top hat, boot, thimble, iron, race car and handbag.) I have not counted the money. Wear, creases and minor losses to property cards. Some stains to Chance and Community Chest cards. Wear and stains to board and box. View all photos.
