Description: Cuban Winter League signed bank document lot. Signed by Mike Gonzalez and Ramon Garcia Rodríguez. The larger tan document with the color Cuban flag is signed by Mike Gonzalez. It is a canceled Havana Lions payroll check. The smaller blue bank slip is signed by Havana Lions executive Ramon Garcia Rodriguez. His “Garcia” signature has appeared on numerous Havana team balls that have sold through auction. Both documents are signed and have different degrees of stains, toning, creasing and wear. The Mike Gonzalez document has one fold. It measures about 6 by 8 inch in size. The blue slip is about 3 by 8 inch. Feel free to ask questions. Gonzalez played pre negro league baseball for Long Branch and is a member of the Cuban baseball HOF. He was banned from MLB. I don’t believe the ban was ever lifted. It was for poaching talent to Mexico. I believe Gonzalez is the first MLB manager to have played in the negro leagues. What he kind of cute if he’s still banned. Seems like history just blows by MLB in an unsurprisingly embarrassing manner. The funny thing is I’m sure Mike Gonzalez has never been considered by much of anybody as a Baseball Hall of Fame candidate. Way to be behind the times MLB. No disrespect to Jackie Robinson, but at some point the whole story of MLB integration has to be considered.
