Description: This is a detailed Interstate Commerce Commission report from May 1956 concerning a petition by the Alabama Great Southern to construct a branch in Tuscaloosa County Alabama to service a paper mill at Holt Ala, to which the Gulf Mobile & Ohio (GM&O) was in opposition. This is an original report from 1956, printed on legal paper and is in excellent condition. There is some rust on the staple and it has been folded in half (presumably when mailed) and features detailed explanations on 12 double-sided sheets. Details including the history of the Holy paper mill and it's rail service, proposed line construction, railroad operations at the mill, both present and proposed, paper company traffic and diversions, etc. It was subsequently denied. A very interesting historical read if you're an AGS fan or fan of Alabama railroading. I will find it in half to ship cheapest way in a large envelope unless we make other arrangements.
