The 1950s era Guyatone’s, whether ingenuity or serendipity, emphasize slick designs and superb tones. This LG-60B is 100% factory stock aside from what may be unoriginal strap button screws. The strap buttons themselves are original. Otherwise, every screw, every solder point, is factory stock, guaranteed. This is a set neck with no truss adjustment. The neck angle is good. In its current state, fretting over the entire register speaks correct and the bridge has room to go down or up. The action currently sits 1/16” 1st fret to 1/8th 12th and remains 1/8th to the 19th. The neck is straight, with enough forward relief to play correctly. It has a floating compensated bridge and can intonate perfectly. The g-string tuner has a sight bend. The front is clean overall, the back of the body has scratches and dings. The back of the neck has bumps that you can feel when playing but minimal. Two fret position markers show wear. In the video, Eric normally plays jazz on an archtop with 13s flats and a wound G. This Guyatone’s action with standard 9s and the bridge not to Eric’s spec caused him to ground out a few times, but rest assured, this LG-60B can play. This LG-60B has complete and correct badging, and the entire electronic circuit is clean with zero static. Other than a few frays and wear spots, the rare accompanying OHSC is in very good condition.
