He answered the calls of birdsandinsects, and their sounds became his. After the shooting, hismusic haunted my memory and I decided to ask him tocompose the score for the picture. We spent seven marvelousweeks in a recording studio in London, as he over-dubbedinstrumentafterinstrumentbuildingupthecomplexrhythmicscore you hear on this album. Occasionally, another brilliantpercussionist, Joao Bosco, came in to tap tablas with him.Brian Gascoigne provided the haunting eagle theme on hisfairlite, and played marimbas.
