Leon Russell "I've been so many places in my life and times." Those words, from one of Leon Russell's most popular songs, can be used to describe the musical career of a man known as "The Master Of Space And Time." Russell, who will perform Saturday at the Wild Blue, has been a marvel of versatility in more than 30 years as a professional musician. Probably best known for his work with Joe Cocker, Russell has blended into the rock, soul and country genres as songwriter, musician, arranger and band leader. The piano and keyboard wizard was one of the first supersessionmen in rock 'n' roll, working with such acts as Jerry Lee Lewis, Phil Spector, Joe Cocker, the Righteous Brothers, Delaney and Bonnie, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Glen Campbell, the Rolling Stones, Ike and Tina Turner, Gary Lewis, Herb Albert and the Byrds. But it was his work as arranger of Cocker's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour in 1970 that put him into the national limelight. After that, Russell concentrated on a solo career and had Top 20 chart success with "Tight Rope" in 1972 and "Lady Blue" in 1975.
