About General Nathan Bedford Forrest Born in Bedford County, Tennessee, General Forrest (b. 1821-1877) served as a lieutenant general during the Civil War for the Confederate Army. Prior to his service, Forrest worked as a planter, slave trader and in real estate before enlisting as a private in the Army. He worked himself up to General, and was one of the few officers to do so. He also served a position in the Ku Klux Klan, but later removed himself from the group. He went by the nicknames of “Old Bed,” “Devil Forrest” and “Wizard of the Saddle.” Forrest was also accused of war crimes, but was not fully charged. General Robert E. Lee believed the Army failed to use Forrest for all of his talents. I only ship within the Continental US
