Description: Description Immaculate 22k Mexican gold coin from the reign of Emperor Maximilian I (1864-1867), an Austrian Archduke who became emperor of the 2nd Mexican Empire until his execution by the Restored Republic on June 19, 1867. The obverse features a portrait of Maximilian, and reads “Emperador Maximiliano.” The reverse reads “Mexicano Imperio 1865 Oro .22k” and features a crowned eagle with the number 1 on either side of its spread wings. The coin weighs 0.54 grams in its current fitting; it appears the previous owner encased it in a plastic tape. In very good condition, especially given age. Denomination: N/A Number of coins: One.
