They apply just as the originals did - they are water soluble. The factory used water soluble decals on valve covers for all 1956-1966 Corvettes, which identified the horsepower. Recommended Installation: Soak the decals in warm soapy water for about 5 minutes.After 5 minutes, you can slide the decal sideways off the paper backing. Prepare the valve cover by applying the same warm soapy water and then carefully transfer the decal off the paper to the wet valve cover.Slide the decal in place and gently pat decal dry with a clean soft paper towel and eliminate any air bubbles.Allow decals to dry and adhere for 24-48 hours before running engine.
