The stock base weighs in at 9.3 grams (with the circular puck, 7.9 grams without), and the new base is 2.5 grams for a weight reduction of 6.8 grams. Optionally, you can remove the magnetic charging leads to reduce the weight another 1.4 grams for a 8.2 gram reduction! In our testing this brought our mouse to just over 52 grams! Installation is fairly easy with a #00 philips screwdriver. There are 9 screws to remove. Check out our install guide for a step by step walkthrough. In the event that you want to remove the modification it is completely reversible. The old base can simply be reinstalled and the mouse is back to original.
