Description: INTERESTING Antique Bronze Lion - Small Sculpture Art Deco - Animal Cat Statue. Interesting small bronze lion! Fresh from a massive estate collection in an old NH barn. Part of a lot of about 20-30 metal animal statues. A handful, like this one were bronze. You can see some spots of silver on the lion. At first I thought it was a bronzed finish peeling and showing the spelter or white metal underneath. However you can tell by looking at the base and how heavy this is that it’s bronze. I’m now thinking it must have been painted silver or been given a silver finish. That silver finish is now worn off except the deeper parts not prone to friction. This piece has a very Art Deco, streamlined look. It is a reproduction of a well known French piece by artist Isidore Jules Bonheur titled ‘Lion L’affut’. Ships ASAP!
