Antique Davenport Black & White Transfer Teapot

Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Hundreds of Staffordshire china factories were established in the 18th and 19th centuries but few produced transfer ware having the quality and detail of Davenport. This handsome circa 1830 teapot is a fine example of early black and white transfer. The pattern is Chinese Pastimes and the maker’s name and an anchor mark are embossed on the bottom. It stands 8 in. high and measures about 5 ½ x 11 ¾. with a miniscule chip off the spout and two minor tight lines on the bottom. A superb shelf piece, and given its age, the condition is remarkably very good.
