Description: This antique platter features a beautiful black aesthetic transferware pattern of birds on a white background. Measuring 20 inches in length and 16 inches in width, this oval-shaped platter is made of ironstone and dates back to the late 19th century. The backstamp is impressed and the brand is unmarked but indicates the Staffordshire knot. It is a vintage piece that would make a lovely addition to any collection of decorative serveware. The production technique used was pottery and it was made in the United Kingdom during the time period of 1850-1899. There are 2 edge chips, one that caused the 8" hairline crack. Crazing throughout front and back. Very nice piece of historic pottery. View photos for details and condition. Clean smoke free home. Please contact me regarding any questions you may have.
