Description: Antique painting. Madonna and child with floral wreath. Italian school 1800s Italian school. From a Danish collection. Oval oil painting on canvas laid on wooden board. Unframed. Size: oval 12 1/2" x 10 1/2" (320mm x 265mm) Signs of age and wear. Peelings and missing paint along the edges. Surface scrathes and damages and crackels in the paint. See photos. Seated Madonna and child. Presumably from late 19th C. The work is very decorative, but could benefit from restoration. Previously in the Norn family's position. On the reverse is written From aunt/father's sister Agnes Norn. Agnes Norn was a schoolteacher, born 1885. Her brother was a well-known architecht, Viggo Norn (1879-1964), who made several studies and travels to Italy early 1900s. His son was the art historian Otto Norn.
