Description: Here is a Beautiful ornate Persian Silver hinged Cigar/Cigarette Box. Large size (8"x 5 3/4" x 1-3/4") and wood lining makes it great for use as a cigar or cigarette case, jewelry box, or trinket box. The box features a hand chased arabesque pattern throughout that has been executed with great skill and attention to detail. The hinge and latch are very sturdy and function perfectly. It is worth noting that the wood has some wear to it, as can be seen in the photos. The box acid tests as silver of approximately .875 purity. I was unable to find any marks on it -it’s possible it was marked near the rim and they wore off over time. Without the wood lining, it weighs 502 grams.
