Description: Antique Wood & Sons Enoch Woods English Scenery Red Transferware Teapot, Old Mark Here is an uncommon and beautiful red or pink on creamy white transferware teapot in the “Enoch Woods English Scenery” pattern from the English maker, Wood & Sons. The pattern features botanical and floral borders as well as scenes of the English countryside. The backstamp on the base of the teapot is the older red “urn” mark which was in use from 1917. Also, there is an impressed Ellgreave England mark. The teapot has a scalloped base and rim. The body has melon-esque ribbing. The pot is about 6" wide. With the lid, the overall height is about 5.5". The capacity is about 4 cups. This is a lovely piece which would mix and match well with other transferware patterns. The pot and lid are in nice clean condition with no cracks. The foot has an area on one scallop that may be a chip, but it is so smooth to the touch that I believe it is a production defect. There is also one little extra piece of clay on the bottom. There is age related glaze crazing. Please see all the photos to judge the quality and condition of this piece.
