Description: Audion 71, 48-page printed music magazine Editorial Welcome to Audion 71, which ran a bit late due to a few reasons, the hot weather and sciatica problems made it not so easy to concentrate on doing creative things, then my headphones broke and I needed to buy some new ones! Typically, doing Audion takes around a month, whilst doing all the other things that are my part of running Ultima Thule, but Audion 71 has taken around six weeks, on and off. I like to have an Audion written by the 10th of the month preceding publication, which then gives plenty of time for Steve to do his editorial job, and for me to put out the feelers for getting permission to use audio samples. If I can't keep up the bi-monthly schedule that I've been doing since Audion's relaunch I may have to go back to quarterly. However, I'm getting so much in the way of review promos at the moment that I really need to keep up the momentum, if I can. Of course, this would be much easier if I was able to delegate work to other people, but I've not been so successful on that front as when Audion was originally launched. Anyway, other developments whilst doing this issue were having to drop two planned articles due to the Prog & Psych from South America, Part 1 Argentina and Choice British Label Classics: Island articles both turning out to be much bigger than originally envisaged. This means fewer articles than the usual Audion, but we still have the same wide variety. We have three articles on new/current artists that you may not have heard of: Acid Rooster (German space rock), Fontanelle (unusual American jazz fusion) and Silvia Tarozzi (Italian female experimental musician), plus the long time planned Hasse Horrigmoe interview (bassist from Norway's long-running psychedelic band Tangle Edge), another of the legends in Italian prog: Le Orme, followed by 14 pages of reviews! As long as I can think of things to write about, and find great new music to review, Audion will keep on keeping on. Until next time... Contents: cover article: Hasse Horrigmoe: Tangle Edge & Øresund Space Collective article/interview plus: Acid Rooster, Fontanelle, Le Orme: the Italian prog legend, Prog & psych from South America, part 1: Argentina, Silvia Tarozzi: new old music from Italy, Choice British label classics: Island, New ECM releases, Rescued Relics, The Avant-Garde Sector, reviews: Asceta, Between, Doctors of Space, Fractal Sextet, Hawkwind, Magma, October Equus, Roger Clark Miller, Svenska Psykvänner, etc. WORLD/USA (NON EUROPE) SHIPPING RATES ARE ROYAL MAIL'S "ECONOMY" SERVICE, WITH A DELIVERY AIM OF 14-56 DAYS (TYPICALLY 14-20 DAYS TO USA).
