Description: Here is a high quality crystal cluster of larger azurite crystals, which are pseudo morphed for 75 percent into Malachite. So the tips are still azurite, and have a highly lustrous crystal surface. But the bottom 2/3rds have been psudomorphed into Malachite, and luster is therefore more frosted and silky, as is the norm with Malachite. The style and quality really reminds a lot of Tsumeb Azurite/Malachite, but this piece is actually from the more recent spectacular finds at Milpillas in Sonora Mexico. Save for a few tiny nicks on the side of the Azurite tips, which are none too distracting... this piece is close to as good as you would want for this type of partial pseudomorh. I can't say often enough that this piece is much better in person, hard to properly photograph. specifically the main crystal is spectacular in it's formation, pretty good in size as well. But to photograph the cluster as a whole somehow does not translate they way this piece impresses when held "in had". So, please scroll through all the photo's to see the various angles, but yeah, excellent and quite spectular piece in my opinion, even if a lot came out of the Milpillas mine, the piece works both as an Azurite and as a Malachite specimen, and great composition for it's size range. This specimen is 2 1/4 oz, or 65 grams in weight. The size is 2 inch x 1.5 inch x 1.7 inch.
