It shows quite a few signs of age and use, but is still an original copy of one of the most scarce first edition spy novels of the 20th century. There is toning and aging on pages and boards, as you can see in photos. Text is clean and clear. Front endpaper has a small stain along side (see photo) and back endpaper has a stamp (photos), otherwise the book is mark-free. There is rubbing and bumping to extremities of book, the cloth is frayed along extremities. Hinges are fragile and back hinge is cracking. The boards show quite a bit of wear and tear: some toning, staining, scuffing, general wear that you'd expect from a well-used reading copy of a book this old. The original jacket is intact. It has been trimmed along edges and also has some tearing and chipping along edges/corners. Although this book shows a lot of wear and tear, this is still an extremely scarce first edition with its original jacket.
