Campanella single-signed baseballs dating from his playing career are perhaps the greatest rarity of post-1950 Hall of Famer single-signed balls. Although Campanella was a very obliging signer during his playing career, his signature alone on a ball remains exceedingly rare today because of his tragic car accident in January 1958 that left him paralyzed in both arms and legs. This is one of only a very small number of Campanella pre accident single-signed balls known to exist, and even many of the most advanced single-signed Hall of Fame ball collections are without one.
