Description: In 1995 the original Diplomat Hotel in Miami was torn down. I purchased a few hundred of these plates at the auction in 1994 (?), and have had them in storage ever since. I was told that they were used in their premier 'Steak House' for many years. They are in wonderful, vintage condition. Manufactured and stamped by CRAFT AMERICAN, they are metal with a 'pewter like' appeal. The center with logo is slightly recessed by about 1/2" and the overall diameter of the plate is 10.5" (see photos). The Diplomat logo is featured centered in the plate, and is highlighted by a simple 1" dimensional repeat pattern around the plate. Wonderful plates. Wonderful History. About 200 available in my collection....
