Machined from billet, 6061, they are anodized black. The indicator holes are backed by smoked acrylic to keep dust and debris out.Installation:To install this product, please understand that it requires removing the shift knob, disassembling 2 wires from a harness plug, then snaking those wires back down and into the connector. This can be done in under 10 minutes but does require know-how and patience. There is extensive documentation on IH8MUD for reference.The plate does not snap on like the factory unit but rather fits by compressing around the latches and fits snug into the console trim. It cannot be pulled through so it will not become dislodged by wheeling! It's a secure, simple fit.
