PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID.Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage King Zephyr alto saxophone made by the H.N. White Company. The serial number is 328,xxx, indicating a c.1952 production date. That makes it a series IV Zephyr. These lack the triple strap ring found on earlier models but retain the double socket neck tenon. The key-guards are now the iconic 'eyebrow' style. The key-work is still lacquered brass. This is a pro level horn produced at the pinnacle of production for this brand! This horn has been around the block a few times, but it is in overall very good physical condition, and average cosmetic condition. The body is straight. There are some minor dings, pings, and nicks on the back of the body and the bow, but no significant dents. The curvature of the bow guard has not been distorted. The rim of the bell has not been bent. The neck has not been pulled down, and it does not have any dings. The tenons are round. It fits easily onto the body but won't budge once the screw is tightened. There are couple of re-soldered key-guard feet. The keys are all moving freely and rebounding properly when released. The rollers are all turning. The lacquer is mostly intact, with moderate to heavy scratching and scuffing throughout. The pads are in excellent condition. They are all matching in style, with plastic button resonators. The leather is soft/supple, and they are sealing properly with a light touch. It plays easily from high F right on down through low Bb. This horn comes in its original case. The case is solid and functional, but heavily worn. Actually, the interior isn't too bad...it is clean and odor free, with normal wear and tear. The exterior is definitely showing its age though...most of the trim has come off, so the exterior covering is starting to fray, causing a lot of loose threads. You'll probably want to get something better if you intend to carry this horn around a lot.
