Classic Eko 12-String Electric Guitar, vintage 1960s, (Cobra; see description)

Description: As a high school kid playing in bands in the 1960s, I wanted to add a 12-string guitar (while keeping my 6-string). I picked up this 12-String new from a dealer in Milwaukee (not certain it was at DeLuca Brothers or other Milwaukee dealer), purchased new in late 1966 or early 1967. This is an Eko 12-String Solid Body Electric Guitar. Although the model name does NOT appear on the guitar, I believe this is Eko’s Cobra model 12-String. Made in Italy this beauty was packed away for 40 years. About the time I wanted to start playing it again I realized that arthritis was settling in to my hands and the guitar got packed away again. So here I am in 2024 selling the Eko. Details are as follows: Guitar Brand: Eko Purchase date: 1966+/- Type: 12-string, electric Model: Cobra Manufactured in: Italy Pickups: One Controls: Two, Volume and Tone Body type: Solid body but not too heavy. Color: Sunburst Appearance: The right-hand guitar side: On top, one noticeable ‘crunch’ from poor handling at a club (probably 1969-1970), and additional obvious wear-marks, toward the bottom, also on the right-hand side. (See photos). Some additional nicks or scrapes here and there but nothing significant. Neck appears very good but the guitar has not been inspected or evaluated by a professional. Guitar may be shipped with or without case.All strings will be removed for shipping. Sold as is, as represented.The photographs were taken April 29 and May 1, 2024. One reviewer (not of this specific 12-string but of Eko guitars, in general) offered this: "These guitars were imported into the United States during the 1960s by Milwaukee import company, Deluca Brothers Music. Surprisingly nice necks on these guitars even 50 years later, the body material is extremely lightweight and the guitars are fun to play.” This was a terrific-sounding guitar and well-crafted enough to handle gigging 2-3 nights per week, packing and unpacking and still look great. This guitar has NOT been plugged in or even played for more than 20 years. For solid-body guitars, this 12-string was easy to play, easy to handle. This guitar will be shipped without strings.
