True story of Claudette Colvin, a resident of Alabama who is a little known pioneer in the Civil Rights movement. Very inspiring but sad story. Has pictures and is very well written. 2. The Watsons go to Birmingham-1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis, 210 pages, paperback. This book became very famous and has won several awards also. It is also a must read for one studying the Civil Rights movement. Book has been very well read, and cover is creased as you can see in the picture. It does not have writing except in inside front cover and has a library card in the inside back cover. Wonderful and inspiring book. These books were part of my classroom library when I taught 8th grade. They are great for adults and for children, and are exceptional for middle school, grades 5 and up. I retired and am passing these books on to others who might read and enjoy them. Shipping is determined by zip code.
