Description: Commemorative medal of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine The commemorative medal is dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine". NABU is a central body of executive power with a special status, created to prevent, detect, stop, investigate and disclose corruption offenses that pose a threat to national security. Since its establishment, this institution has exposed numerous cases of bribery, theft of state property and illegal enrichment among high-ranking officials. The commemorative medal symbolizes NABU's achievements in the fight against top corruption, as well as the contribution of this law enforcement body to building the future of Ukraine as part of the European community. On the obverse of the medal, in the center on a mirror background, there is the logo of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, above which is the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the inscription UKRAINE, below is the year of minting 2024 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. On the reverse of the medal in the center is a stylized image of a sunflower blooming under the rays of the sun, which in its shape visually resembles the emblem of the institution. The unlit and withered petals on the exhausted and dry earth are a kind of allegory of the detrimental effect of darkness and drought on the development of the sunflower, similar to how corruption negatively affects the development of the state and society. It is the "struggle of light against darkness (corruption)" that enables the sunflower to bloom and the state to develop and prosper. This symbolic series is complemented by a stylized prohibition sign, formed by the general composition of the reverse, around which is placed the slogan of NABU: DESTROY and PREVENT.
