Description: Journalist Vittore Messori was prepared to interview Pope John Paul II in a televised format in 1993. The questions he was prepared to ask His Holiness were his own. Unfortunately, because of scheduling difficulty, the televised interview never took place. True to his wish, however, Pope John Paul II, unbeknownst to journalist Messori, wrote by hand (in Polish) his answers to each question the journalist had planned to ask His Holiness on television. In 1994, an envelope was delivered to the journalist, and inside were pages and pages (again, in Polish) of answers to Messori's questions. Thanks to the translation efforts of Jenny and Martha McFee, the pope's answers were translated from Italian to English and issued as a hardcover book in 1994, published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York. The book is 244 pages long, and it contains a general index. The dust jacket is clear coated. Dimensions: 5" wide x 8.5" high x 1.125" thick. Weight: 13.8 ounces.
