Beeswax has natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. It keeps food fresh while repelling water. They’re to replace or compliment your plastic or foil wrap. Great for leftovers, cheese, fruit, casseroles, watermelon. As for cheese, I would keep the plastic wrapping on and then fold inside the beeswax wrap. I took my cheese out of the plastic wrapping and put it in the beeswax. It got hard on all sides. Still melts, so not a total loss. Be sure to check the size of these wraps so that they meet your needs. They're priced based on how many and how big. You activate the beeswax by crumpling the wrap up in your hands. The heat from your hands makes the wrap pliable and easy to mold around glass, steel, plates, cans, leftovers, etc. The Do Nots Do not microwave these. They’re highly flammable. Do not put them in a hot oven. Expect fire trucks. Do not put them in the freezer. Use only in the fridge. Do not cover raw meat, fish or poultry. Meat, I know for certain. I just threw in the other two. It’s common sense. The You Cans You can wash them in cold water and dish soap. Hot water will melt the beeswax. Hang or lay flat to dry. You can cut them to sizes you need. They're pinked to prevent raveling. They should last about a year, depending on use. You’ll know when they’ve lost their oompf.
