Description: Here's a fantastic piece of presidential campaign material from the 1884 election. Made out of wood, this 3" disc has a hanger at the top and promotes the democrat presidential candidates Grover Cleveland and Thomas Hendricks. They beat out the republicans James Blaine and John Logan, and one of these items exists for them, as well. We don't know how else the wonderful details on this jugate could have been rendered into wood other than making a metal die, getting some softer wood like basswood and then using a press to imprint the men's likenesses, their names and offices, an American eagle and shield with a banner in its beak into it. The details are striking and just wait until you can hold it in your own hands to admire it. This is in very nice condition but please look at our images to decide this for yourself so that you can be happy with your purchase.
