Having moved to Hong Kong from Shanghai in 1949, he photographed the streets of Hong Kong and the daily life of its inhabitants in the 1950s and 60s, during the city's economic transformation. He often composed his photographs with geometric compositions and unique textures, while creating a sense of atmosphere through the play of shadow and light. This is a halftone dotless print that renders almost identical to the original in terms of resolution.
