Description: Fine long-neck tear drop shaped mid-century modern vase by Fratelli Toso according to the one like it seen on Live Auctioneers under 'Fratelli Toso" results. This is the fenicio pattern of draped colors, here charcoal gray and cerulean blue. Pattern rises in elongated scallops to the top, with a thin luminous white undercoat, The base tear drop shape is almost paperweight, with a semi-polished bottom for grip and a silver dollar sized scoop pontil mark we''-centered. Venini made these too, only less organic in shapeand filagree instead of fenicio usually. Still the colors here are gorgeous and the style is classic mid-century modern. Acquired in the 80s, this could be much older. It is about 16 1/2"h and about 6"w across the base at its widest. Looks like some opalescence to the lining, visible mostly in the neck, but the glow can be seen in the base as well. Quite straight up for the decorator's eye.
