Good Looking Antique Weeden 14 Live Steam Engine - Needs Work

Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) SM/AE For your consideration is a Weeden 14 made in the USA in the late 1920s/early 1930s.From the Weeden site :The Number 14, manufactured from the late 1800's up to 1940, was Weeden's most popular engine. It has a six legged table style cast iron frame, a design shared with two other similar electrically heated models, the No.647 and No.648. The No.14's distinctive boiler is heated with a rectangular shaped three wick burner. The engine may be reversed simply by stopping it and flipping the flywheel in the other direction. This antique Live Steam Engine is good looking.It has been partially restored.It has been air tested (video) but required 35 psi to operate and I had to by-pass the boiler, which explains why I disconnected the steam line (it's a 2 minute soldering job).I diagnosed the problem as being the distributor needing resetting as it is quite loose in the cylinder. The engine has many excellent and original parts. Here are the exceptions : - The pressure relief valve received a new spring and has not been tested, - The base for the governor has been modified. Currently, it would not be running on steam until the distributor problem has been solved. Please select the shipping system that suits you best. That was 65 years ago. I have been collecting them for 25 years and I am now 74. None of my descendants is interested in the collection, so I decided that it was time to liquidate.
