Top page edges gilt. In very good condition. Some minor rubbing to leather on edges of boards and corners. Mild foxing to blank prelims. No penned inscriptions. Some mild to moderate foxing to pages and plates throughout all volumes. Not all plates guarded. Bindings tight and sound. Overall a very good clean and tight set. 4 Vols: Numerous colour chromo-lithographic plates with tissue guards. Profusely illustrated with wood-engravings, etc.(some full-pg. or double-pg.). & Maps.
