Description: For your consideration... this is Texas and Pacific RR Flatcar #5090. This car represents a class of 300 (5000 thru 5299) cars built by ACF for the T & P in 1928. I applied a shop date in 1948 on this car, making it suitable for the late steam / 1st generation diesel modeler. Thes cars gave solid service with some lasting into the 1960's! This car began as a Tichy undecorated kit. It was completely built out with fully plumbed / linked AB style brakes. It is painted using Tru Color Paint, decaled with National Scale Car company decals and weathered using AK Interactive products. It rides on prototype correct TMW "Andrews style" 50 ton trucks from Westerfield. These cars are VERY light so I always add a load to give them a little weight. With the cable reel and crate (fixed in place) this car weighs in at appx 3 oz. This car is intended to give an appearance it may have had in interchange service in the late 1940's through 1950's. It is ready to go to work for you today!
