Description: Really nice set of 8 dessert/bread plates in the Apple Blossom pattern by USA companyHomer Laughlin.Love this Apple Blossom pattern by Homer Laughlin Company of Newel, West Virginia. Made in the Nautilus shape which debuted in the 1930's and features a nautilus shell motif seen in the handles and knobs and an embossed design on the tabs of platters. The "eggshell" glaze was applied to dinnerware that was thinner and stronger than previously made products and it was craze-proof (tiny cracks in the glaze as it expandsover time), making them very lightweight. The Apple Blossom pattern was manufactured from 1942-1952 and features realistic shades of pink apple blossoms against a cream background and 22kt gold trim andgold verge lines on the inside of the plates. The plates measure 6" in diameter. The backstamp dates these plates to1942. There are no chips or cracks, but may have the expected slight utensil marks. With a pastel tablecloth this set would certainly bring springtime to the table. .
