Description: The Dr. J. Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters bottles are fairly common except when it comes to colors and the types of embossing. This is one of the variations. Only one side is embossed with the name and all 3 others sides are flat. At times you find the number of ounces for example 16 or 18. The size on this one is 8 and 1/2 inches tall and the base is 2 and 1/2 inches square. The color is an orangey/amber. The large circular indented base has: A C W with a B below that. What is interesting is that this lettering is Doubled as though it slipped in its mold. This is a very heavy bottle as it weighs over 1 pound. This is a beautiful early HOSTETTER’S Circa 1870s or early 1880s and has just a light ground patina inside. Some nice twisting in the neck which has a couple of elongated bubbles. The neck seam is very low on this one. Very strong embossing and nicely beveled corners. There are no cracks or chips and will look beautiful in your window or showcase. Hope you may like to add this bottle to your collection and thanks for looking David
