Coolant flows through the intake manifold to the cylinder head to reduce engine temperature. Engine expansion, contraction and heat cause gasket failure. This will cause coolant to leak through the intake manifold. A leaking manifold gasket can also cause air to be sucked through the leaking gasket, resulting in vacuum leakage and poor engine performance.
